Ive been on telkom ADSL for 10 years. I recently thought id try out mobile broadband using 8ta...

Wow im actually blown away at how bad the QOS is... I get disconnected multiple times a day with very good or excellent signal in an evolved suburban area. If I use my 3G in 2 other locations same thing happens...

Over and above the fact ive struggled with Cell C 3G on my phone for years. Either cant get data or it apparently has connection but wont do anything. I can be in Sandton, Randburg or the East Rand and constant problems.

So I have come to a conclusion. If you work for a mobile telecommunications company please do us all a favour and kill yourself? And tell your superior to keep telling his superior that they must do the same.

Dont dare come with your "check your area" for coverage cause thats TOTAL BS. Sandton? Randburg? Anywhere it doesnt matter this problem exists. Its called incompetence.

Is that a rhetorical question? You can also blame government due to not granting more spectrum.

Used Cellc, 8ta and now Afrihost and have never had connection problems (I plug the dongle into a router) that weren't addressed by their engineers (only 8ta had a slight issue at the start). I am a walrus.

Cell C is excellent here. Bit congested at times but nothing to complain about except the price. Other networks aren't so yes it's mostly pathetic. Don't know why you would move from adsl unless it's to fibre.

I think the blame mostly lies with ICASA for not selling/granting the required spectrum to the ISPs.
