Is anyone currently using 126 (Fourways)?

I haven't been able to see this tower (Fourways Golf Park) since yesterday. Is anyone out there using it at the moment? Have you had troubles over the last day or so? I need to determine if the problem is with Sentech or if it's on my side.. it shouldn't be tho' as I have a fixed antenna that hasn't moved at all!

Just a side note, I am seeing tower 66 (Fourways Exchange) with a very weak signal (<b>0%</b>), but I still managed to connect to it! Connection was slow as hell tho' and kept dropping (as you'd expect). Could probably improve it by climbing into my ceiling and repositioning the antenna, but really want to avoid this if possible. Anyways if 126 comes back, the signal from it was much stronger.

No it's not you - it's def'nitly the tower - I'm just about always connected to it with 3 - 4 lights and 15% - 20% signal (I'm quite close). The last day or 2 the signal suddenly went to 1 - 2 lights and 3% - 8% signal. I.e. I still connect to it but speeds are way down and latency way up.

Last week I was told that a tower in the Fourways area was to be removed for some reason.
Other towers in the area have had their range extended to almost 10km to fill the gap!

Right, had a climb around in my ceiling this morning, but could not get a signal anywhere. If I don't get signal back soon I am definitely cancelling. Going from a 16% signal three days ago to fsckall signal now really peeves me. If I knew I was going to be jerked around like this I certainly would NOT have signed up for this sub-standard service!

I can confirm that tower 126 in Fourways in being decomissioned. Apparently it was always a temporary site and presumably for this reason Sentech did not need to inform users (in particular, those actually using the tower) that it would disappear, leaving those that can't connect to 66 high and dry. Thank you Sentech. Thank you very much. [:(!]

No big surprise to me, I hate to say it, but I'm rather happy, I couldn't figure out why my connection became so stable 2 weeks ago.
Up till now, tower 66 was short one node, in the direction of the golfpark, since my connection stabilised, and I now remain connected for more that 30 minutes at a time, I'm assuming they finally put up a 3rd node, and I no longer get a rebounded signal. if they did put up a 3rd node, they would remove golf park. Good for me, pity for the others.
This seems to be a standing agreement with sentech customers, some benefit, to the detriment of others, as can be seen with the bandwidth saga up till 2 weeks ago, some have had it great, others have been non-existant.

Before signing up for MyWireless, I checked to make sure that I had a good signal, I purchased an antenna and the right amount of LMR400 cable to mount it in my ceiling and run it down a conduit to my PC, I also spent a lot of time selecting the best position to mount the antenna, and positioning it. Now the tower is gone and so is my signal. So, the testing I did beforehand, the antenna and positioning thereof, the length of cable purchased - all of this was a waste of time and money. Even if Sentech agree to cancel my contract, I still lose out - in terms of time and money, plus I still don't have an Internet connection as I cancelled my application for a phone line as I naively believed that I wouldn't need it 'cos MyWireless was the solution to my Internet needs.
