Also do they run 7 days, or just from whatever day it is currently to Sunday.

Rather pay R20 extra and do fourth nightly. Better than BlackBerry services... purchased a bundle myself but highly doubt it can be extended but anything is possible

Wanted to give it a go, but it says I do not have enough airtime.
Even though it's R59 and I have R60.43

What gives?

The airtime In your account can only be used for free MTN-MTN voice calls. When you recharge MTN sometimes gives free airtime to use for voice calls.. I have over R600 and tried to see if I convert it for Data u,nope couldn't

MTN has a data expiry rule that is unique and one of a kind compared to other carriers in SA.

The data expiry rule mention that data bundles can be extended by simply buying another once off bundle before the previous bundle expires. I tested some thoroughly and found that the normal 60day bundles and night data bundles monthly can be extended by simply buying another once off bundle of any size.

Example:

I bought the 1GB data bundle today for R149. I get 1GB data expiring in 60days and 1GB free data expiring in 30days which is a promo.

If I do not use my 1GB data bundle at all and would like to extend it I can buy 5mb data bundle for R3 on day 59 and then the expiry date will be moved another 60days.

This does not stack so if I bought the 5mb data bundle on say day 30 then the expiry date will effectively only only be 60days from that purchase meaning it only got extended 30days.

I have not tried this with daily, weekly or forthnightly bundles. Would be worth a shot to see if the bundle gets extended.

It's kinda annoying then, because I can't seem to differentiate which is normal airtime. Had to buy another R10 worth of airtime.

Did you come right now. We should address this to ICASA cos it's confusing..

*141*1# and answer 1 for detailed airtime balances or 2 for detailed data balances with expiry dates.

I think I can confirm that you can extend weekly bundles, with another weekly bundle of any value.

Just extended my 1Gig with R7(50 Meg)

it now expires the 18th, shows the data as combined.

Indeed. So all bundles can be extended like this. Nice little expiry rule they have.

It seems MTN is the network to be with if you spend R100 or less a month on data.

It's not combined I can confirm this. *141*1# there is a detail report when the days will expire

Did you do weekly with weekly?

It should read:
Once-Off 7 day:
xxx MB valid until dd/mm/yyyy

Bought 1Gig on the 8th.
Bought 50meg on the 12th.

See I got a message that my bundle expired on the 15th (which would of been the 1Gig). How I think the system works is that it moves the old data onto the new package. So behind the scenes you have 0 MB expiring the 15th, old + new expiring on the new date.

But I still have 300MB left due for expiry on the 18/03/2015 which I'm gonna extend again today.
So I will see if the system still stands.

Weekly bundles only valid for 6 days only!!! Example if you data on a Friday on Thursday Morning (6am your data is depleted/expired). I had over 500 megs of data gone MTN are thieves.... weekly bundles are suppose to last you for 7 days aren't they example I recharge on Friday, next week Friday midnight data is suppose to expire

I hear you there. MTN aren't doing 168 hours from the date of purchase it seems. If you buy your bundle at 5 to 12 midnight, that constitutes a day to them already, dubious indeed. I'm going to extend the bundle from now on, at least they allow that it seems.

New prices out for weekly bundles. Very disappointed, an increase between R3 - R6
