A bit of background, i am a 20 something guy and have both SA and French nationality.

When i go for a job interview it goes a bit like this.

Interviewer : "i see you can speak French....why?"

Me : "I am French!"

Interviewer : "When do you plan on returning?"

At this point i get a touch worried that they are scared that i am going to drop them at a moments notice and that they don't want to employ me because of that.

I have spent exactly 2 months in France and the last time i was 10 so i wont be running off any time soon even if i could afford to.

Sorry if its a bit of a odd question i'm crazy medicated today just want to get some perspective.

Maybe phrase the answer differently..

Instead of saying "I'm French", say "I'm from a French family that emigrated to South Africa".

But no, dual nationality is not seen as a bad thing... in some cases a few employers welcome it because it can make international travel for the employee easier.

What Toxic said. Don't say that you are French. Say that your parents are French speaking immigrants that made sure to teach you French at home.

Just start talking seductive French syllables.

Bam! The job is yours

Depends on the industry you're in. I applied for some jobs in the defense industry and raised a couple eyebrows for dual citizenship.
