Is iBurst almost dead?

I have been using iBurst for a year now. A year ago the average speed was 90KBps which is ok for a 1Mbps service. I even sometimes got the 1Mbps speed when downloading.

The speed on the Kempton Park Tower is now useless. The average in day the is 20KBps and at night 30KBps.

At the rate it is going my iBurst is going to be dead in 2 months time.

Can the iBurst management please reply on this problem.

Well I live in benoni and stopped my service in Dec because I just didnt get any decent connectivity anymore, granted Iburst are still billing even though i dont even own a UTD anymore... but thats a different story!

I still use iBurst in benoni ... I get 120K/sec... altho I am 4km from the Maluti tower.

hmmm.. I was using the Kempton tower... could never connect to the benoni tower at all..

Had a bit of a hard time with iBurst in getting my aerial moved, but finally got it done. I am currently getting speeds of the following:

Last 24 hours 7 days
Number of tests 9 26
Download speed 206.15 KBits/sec
25.77 KBytes/sec 201.93 KBits/sec
25.24 KBytes/sec
Upload speed 144.81 KBits/sec
18.10 KBytes/sec 117.98 KBits/sec
14.75 KBytes/sec
DNS Speed 3852.00 mSec 4570.00 mSec
Latency 626.00 mSec 748.00 mSec

I agree. I am so close to the tower and have an aerial on the roof pointing at the tower and the speeds are so k@k. I assume it's a contention issue. Maybe our towers are overloaded. I am bouncing off the Kyalami one.

iburst generally performs better at night... but i also find in the rain it performs real crappy

I agree!! The pre launch speed was wonderful with averages of 90KBps but now it is more than just sh!tty!!

I wonder when the 2mb Iburst will be available and the cost for it. Probably be 10 thousand rand.

I'm in hyde park and ever since they put up teh illovo tower I'm getting 90k which is 40k up from trying to connected to rosebank and sandton :D

Your line speed is approximately 598.9 Kbps or 73.4 kBytes/sec
( Where kb = kilobits and kB = kiloBytes )

here is my line test... i am using kyalami.

whoa what tower do you use cuz those are pretty crappy results... might as well get ISDN.

This crap results are why I am asking for answers from iBurst management.
