Is it true that dual sim phones can't run both sims on 4g?

Hi, recently heard that dual SIM phones can't run 4g at the same time. one has to be on 3g and the other on 4g. Can't be both on 4g. Is that true?Feels counter productive in the use of it, especially if you use 2 different networks.

Nope, false news. My old-ish Xiaomi phones all run dual 4G, and the new one runs dual 5G.

If my CAT S60 was working I'd show you the 1 SIM had to be 2G while the other could be 2G/3G/4G, so it's a phone specific thing, and thus not false news.

It depends on the phone, my CAT S60 could even do one 3G and other 4G. My Samsung A02s can have both SIMs on 4G

Thanks, that places the whole thing for me in perspective. So it's device dependent? I'm using a Samsung galaxy note 10.

Depends on the phone. My Xiaomi Redmi 9C runs 4G on both sims at the same time and both sims are connected to Volte at the same time. Only one sim can have a active data connection at a time though.
