A major cold-front is likely to arrive on Tues 23rd. This will be rather different from recent storms that affected only the extreme SW-Cape. It is too soon to tell exactly how far inland it will extend, but next week is likely to be interesting...

Yep, most of the South Cape's power was off from 10:20 until 11:30.

"ESKOM has confirmed to us that there is an unexpected power outage throughout Southern Cape. George Electro tech dept are working closely with ESKOM to establish cause and to rectify power. We will provide further updates as we receive information from ESKOM."

Well we just had a blackout here in the southern cape for the last hour - Mossel Bay, George, Sedgefield, Knysna and Plett. Main 66Kv feed failed. Restored in just over an hour, thanks Eskom!
It's raining and blowing a gale BTW.
It is likely to be very windy next week on Tues 23rd, though local power failure are not the same as national load shedding. Link posted in other thread:

This will bring rain to my spot in the wilderness, what scared me a wee bit was the 44km'hour winds...... not a nice thing to have in the desert.....

Even more pathetic - because there's no power people use less electric - therefore price increase. They still get their pound of flesh.

No use complaining, fretting, crying anymore. The best we can do is prepare for our 'rogering' as best as possible (stock up on wood, get a generator, solar etc.)

Load shedding should come back due to popular demand, we were supposed to have it right after the elections and it has been imminent since then. The people just cannot have enough of it.

Load shedding will be back, expect it anytime. That's how shithole countries roll.
