IS Newsgroups current status???

Hi there Guys,

im looking to purchase an IS account so that I can get some stuff of the news servers. However, I would just like some feedback on wether it would be a good idea at the moment as last month IS news servers were terrible.

How are they at the moment? Please give some feedback, Im sure Im not the only one with this question on their mind. Save us a few bucks and give us an update on the status and performance of the IS News server and on which server eg. news.isdsl.net or news.is.co.za.

Would be much apreciated gentlemen.

Its a tuff one, for a couple of reasons.

Last month was bad in a way that the server could just have been very busy.. it could have been that there was alot of 1mbit users on.

Problem i see is this, we also have 4mbit users now :> lol

We'll have to see what the month brings.

Currently the server is up and running at average speeds, but with these news servers.. They can be up and running nicely for a week, and be on and off the rest of the month. *Rollercoaster*

Mine is currently basicly dead or dead slow
If, and only if id do get connected to the server, speeds are from 2-12kbs. (384kbs line)
Before August i normally did 39-41Kbs.

I also wonder where this IS.co.za is situated?? and if there are a couple of them maybe?? (maybe your is.co.za connects to one close to you, where mine connects close to me.. i dunno)

I get around 35kb - 40kb per sec atm (512K line)
I should be getting 50-55kb per second if it was running at capacity.

Thanks for the feedback guys, i apreciate it. Just signed up for a webafrica account and am hitting a constant speed of 430kb a sec. Loving it.
