Is Rampage-gaming.co.za a legit online selling company?

ure money is lot safer under the mattress @home or rather look at purchasing directly frm the wholesalers.

The trolls just reminded me of the Charlie Sheen -Winning debacle :D

Lol... Good advise. :) I did a bit of digging just now and hellopeter does indeed tell the tale.

There should be a wall of shame thread for outfits like them.

So is it worth ordering with them? I have just placed an order upwards of R1500 and I'm wondering if I should continue with the payment.

i've never used rg, but from the comments and my own experience with "smaller" stores I think its pretty safe to conclude the following:

If you really want/need your product ASAP, you are PROBABLY more likely to get it quicker from one of the larger online retailers. This is a huge generalisation though and the smaller place might actually end up being quicker. From my experience the larger stores are always 2-3 days while the smaller ones can be anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks.

So, if you don't really mind about possibly waiting a bit longer then I can't see a reason not to use them, their negative reviews on hellopeter seem to be about communication (i.e. they are not gonna run away with your money e.t.c.). I'm guessing you are wanting to use them because of their prices?

IMO best bet would be to wait for the stock to be confirmed. Then phone in and find out exactly how long it is going to take - i.e. how long will it take them to get it from the supplier, handle it, then ship it to you.

Thanks for the advice Vitrolic. I will phone them when they confirm that they have stock.

My main concern is if I would eventually get the hardware I ordered. It's not that urgent, but I would like to have it in a weeks time. As It's my first time ordering online, I'm wondering if ordering online is as 'reliable' (not exactly the right word, but you know what I mean) as buying it at the store.

I'll post the details of their service and how long it took them here after I get my order, to give a heads up to others concerned.

EDIT: Yes, I am using them because of their prices.

Ordered on Thursday 9th, received stock confirmation on that Friday, received goods on next tuesday. Speedy delivery, great customer service.

Online stores:

Offer so many options

Local pc shop:

Offers you such a limited variety and the prices will be higher i would imagine

I purchased a printer from them(Rampage Gaming) before checking the forms, that was last week, I still don't have the printer, that was after I had to phone to find out that the printer was out of stock.
So I confirmed that I do want the replacement that they offered at the same price, After 4 days of no communication from them I tried phoning and it just rang every time, after 20 calls and two days of trying to get hold of someone, someone answered and promised me that they will send the tracking number before the end of business, well that came and went!!!
So basically after a week of calling and emailing, still no one can give me an answer as to where the printer is!!

So in short I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH RAMPAGE GAMING!!!!

I've had a good experience with them.
Ordered an antec case and tv card and it was delivered within 2 to 3 days if I am not mistaken.

Mind you, I enquired via live chat if they had stock; and then again prior to ordering and again prior to payment. Probably drove them crazy.
But then I had read some of the reviews here on mybb.

Pity the pictures have not come up almost 6 months later - they are seriously prejudicing themselves.

Checked with them whether they had stock of Asus transformer and dock they confirmed and said delivery ETA of 3 days, promptly made payment and have received nothing 22 days later. I got an email explaining stock problems and was offered a refund which i accepted that was 11 days ago and still no refund, all im getting told is the refund is being "processed". 11 days to process a refund in this modern day and age hmmmmmmmm... Hopefully I'll see my money some day, just be very careful people instead of delivery ask to pick the item up in person and pay cash or else who knows what outcome you will get.

There should be a warning out dealing with Rampage Gaming , have placed an order and paid 3K on in december , have not yet received my stock and when i requested a refund finally over a week ago they have dissapeared , not returning any e-mails(not that they were when i was asking about when my equipment would be delivered) , really shocking and now need to resort to other measure to try and get my money back..... shocking that companies like this are even allowed to do business have tried contact them on various means(forums/mail/sms/phone) and have heard nothing.

Oh ya, Alexcon, the service you received is the service all our clients get, you didnt receive better service because you haggled with the sales person, thats just our level of service. The couriers have to call every client before dropping stock off and usual delivery time is about a day, max 2. Now and again we have a screwup but its very rare.

 seriously ive been waiting for a month now and i call and call you guys dont even reply your emails my order number is 1114 please i dont want to be an @SS but i really need my pc you said you would deliver today but nothing arrived please i ask with all do respect hurry up:D

What a bunch of amateurs. Thanks to all for the heads up. I will stay away for sure. Never part with your money in advance before you can trust a supplier, these guys really seems like a small bunch of juvenile amateurs for sure or maybe even a big scam. I wonder if they realize the reputation power MyBB can provide for their business success or on the flip side the devastating start of a business failure as judged on these posts so far..

There have been a bunch of threads about Rampage Gaming. Worst online store out there. Bunch of little Pr!cks who have no clue what they are doing.

...Evidenced by the volume of complaints on HelloPeter, as well as a number of threads on Rampage's forums b!tching about non-delivery, no responses, etc. Some of the hardware-related advice their staff dish out on those forums is quite entertaining though. Based on the 15 minute's research I've just done I wouldn't entrust my hard-earned cash with them!

Unfortunately some people don't learn, or make sure of a store before they buy.

try sybaritic.co.za :)
Ordered my SSD last week friday and had it delivered on monday morning

yeah i have been shopping online for more than 10 years in ZA ...and have never had this experience...they really have no idea...plus being in the industry the comments and statements they make sporadically are absolutely juvenile and make no sense....bunch of scammers! and by feel of things ...they wait for money to come in to pay those wanting refunds....they are not a legit business....

yeah , next time will not purchase the cheapest price vga card by R200 ...should have known something wrong right there....lesson learnt ....now to hope i get my moneyback...so i can actually spend it a reputable store...above being one of them :) have bought lots from them in the past as well prophecy/take2/evetech and have had awesome worry free service/shopping experience....

Commiserations and I hope you get your money back.

When you do, I can recommend NGR, Rebel Tech and WootWare. Am building my shiny new i7 rig this weekend: ordered all the components from these three stores on Monday morning, paid 'em all on Tuesday and as of this afternoon have received everything.
