Is Telkom throttling torrents with its "unlimited Telkom Mobile Data"?

Hi, so I have that R99.00 per month voice contract deal that came with the Samsung Pocket and Unlimited Telkom mobile data (10gig and then throttled after that) untill March 2015. So I have used up all my "All network data" and figured I might as well use this unlimited data for a change. I have not done so since getting this contract. So enabled my phones hotspot, made sure I am on Telkom Mobile and not MTN and trying to do some downloads. IT IS SLOW AS A SNAIL!!!!! Getting about 10Kbps max with about 5 downloads running. And that is not even 10Kbps per downloading file .... that is in total for all of them.

I have downloaded things while roaming on the MTN network in the same way when I had some "All Network" data and it was very fast. Aint Telkom's network supposed to be better? Cant they handle a few downloads?

So basically this "Unlimited Data" actually means absolutely 100% Vokol!

How much of the Unlimited Data have you used? You will get limited after 10GBs.

I am getting 30kbps max on 1 download on my 2 meg uncapped line.
I am only allowed to torrent between 12AM - 7AM.
I've been downloading a 10 gig file for the last 3 weeks now.

mmmmm connection seems to have died now. Tried to go onto Ubuntu website to do the download there, but is not loading. Gonna restart the phone and check HTTP download.

Ok. After restarting the phone, I went straight to the Ubuntu site and started the normal HTTP download. Very quick. 800KBps. Restart my torrents and now it is on 10KBps again. Going to try a Ubuntu torrent. Will see what that does.

Yip. Telkom is definately throttling it. Tried to download Ubuntu now with torrent and there I am throttled again to max of 10kbps. When I tried the HTTP way, it was super fast.

WTF!!!!????? How am I going to use this 10gig of data? Well done Telkom ..... nice little piece of useless fcking bait you put out there in the lake to catch you some fish!

Sent. Bloody a-holes. I understand that after 10gig it is throttled, but how the hell am I supposed to use that 10gig? Watch frekking youtube vids the whole frekking day? What a joke! If you scared your snazzy fancy brand new network is going to collapse, then dont fcking bait people into signing with you with a "Unlimited data" thing on voice lines.

Try to manually increase upload speed limit, as cellular bandwith is not symetrical. Torrents download speed depend on how is your contribution to the network.
