From my calculations yes in general it is worth it, don't forget to include extra cabling, breakers, combiner boxes, mounting etc. into the comparison as well. Higher voltage means thinner wire, fewer panels and more of them in series means less fuses/circuit breakers when combining.
Mounting of panels alone is a fairly large cost.
These things cost more than you might think.
However of course as with most things the exact answer is "it depends" as it is highly situational.
