I am experiencing slow connections in Cape Town from yesterday on MTN.![]()
When I put in my VM card there is no problem!!!!!![]()
Anyone else experiencing problems in Cape Town centre?
I've heard from more than one person that internet has been very slow for the last couple of days even though they're seeing a full HSDPA signal in the Fastlink software.
One of them logged a complaint (ref #1043708) but hasn't heard what's going on yet.
I believe the complaint was logged last Friday, 2007/01/05.Coverage helpdesk have 8 hours to effectively log any query so I'm sure they'll look into this and advise ASAP

I was experiencing slow internet on HSDPA 9th and 10th. I have been on VM since, so do not know if it is sorted.
Cape Town - Gardens
Cool
Thanks Sean
Still slow. I was on at 05h30 this morning and it was a bit faster. I am having trouble opening this page, timeout.
E620, APN = myMTN Area - Gardens Cape Town, average = 9kbps
Switching to GPRS/EDGE only didn't seem to help.Still very slow in Cape Town Gardens below 10kbps.
I was at the airport earlier this morning and it was flying, excuse the pun.
I have now set the card to EDGE and guess what the speed is 6 times as fast.
There is something wrong with the HSDPA here.
Switching to GPRS/EDGE only didn't seem to help.
MTN_DD, still haven't haven't received a call.
I think this problem is the same as Manne2004's problem.
Still no calls, it's now more than 10 days since the problem was reported and HSDPA in Cape Town centre is still crippled.I've emailed the coverage manager and I've asked for feedback will keep you posted

Sean12 is right, switching your data card into GPRS/EDGE does at least allow one to use the internet.
