hello Everyone

this Network is international and i want to ping my self from a Joburg Data Centre or cape town. i want a Dedicated Server network to send my router 32 Byte packets and tell me the response time.
i don't Know if anyone in South Africa has bothered to setup their server that way and let people ping themself as many times as they wish to but i am sure that people ping themself in Europe or USA etc.
i told my Friend in Turkey to use MyBroadband speedtest he got 239ms and he gets 280ms to me

RIPE Atlas project might give you IPs of many end points to ping.

Allowing your router to be pingable from outside is the first step towards enticing script kiddies...

i have a firewall inside the network from the router
Which will be meaningless if it has any open ports that can be exploited.

Unless it's an intelligent packet sniffing firewall that is.

I'm still lost. So, you have a server with FDC and you just want to see what the response time is?

Your server should have an IP address already. Can you ping that? Great, not you WinMTR to check for packet drops.

Still not sure why you want to do this from a data center here in JHB or in CPT though?
