Is there a way I can use my Cell C data sim in my Blackberry

Hi guys, I was just wondering if there was a way i could use my cell c data sim in my Blackberry Curve 8520

AFAIK, yes you can, you can get both voice and data services, but for data you will have to force some applications to connect using the Cell C internet APN. And you won't be able to access BBM or setup email though. For that, you need to sign up for BIS, which Cell C does offer.

No prob. I haven't tested it myself, but this is what I've heard and believe, and it also makes sense. All browsing, BBM and email data is compressed, encrypted and sent over a dedicated link to RIM's servers in Canada. The only way to access this link is through the BB APN, and the only way to access this APN is thorough a BIS subscription on a BB device. Hence the need for various governments around the world to threaten shutting down BIS in various countries, unless RIM allow them access to the encrypted communications.

Hopefully someone else can confirm my belief, or refute it.

For Email it is correct, compressed, but encryption only is available on enterprise servers (for large corporate customers). Compressed browsing, perhaps depend on the browser and/or proxy setup.
