I'm currently on a 2Mbps ADSL line and would like to stay there. Is there any way to avoid the speed upgrade other than downgrading to 1Mbps and living with that till Telkom upgrade those lines some time in January or February?
The reason I'm asking is that I know that my line won't be able to do more than 3Mbps stable, and if left to attempt to sync at 4Mbps, will get roughly 3500kbps, but will disconnect and reconnect every few minutes, making the ADSL connection nearly impossible to use.
So I'd like to avoid ending up in the situation where my ADSL line gets upgraded to unusability, but at the same time I would also like to avoid having to use only 1Mbps till February (worst case).
