Is there anyway to force a different server connection on Telkom ADSL?

After battling with essentially unusable internet for 2 weeks since Telkom 'upgraded' the line in the area, I'm about to tear my hair out. I've been testing line speeds on beta.speedtest.net and discovered it chooses the 'best' out of the available servers to test. When I compare its best choice - Breederiver to the server I'm connected to - Port Elizabeth the speeds are much higher.

Is there a way of forcing a connection to the best server instead of the random one the router / Telkom picks?

You can register an account, and then say which is your preffered server from what I recall
