Is there any app or other way to make YouTube videos viewed in the YouTube app or possibly even in browsers to not go past a certain video quality?

I'm happy with 360p video when watching videos on mobile devices, 720p is just about constant buffering and I don't have enough data anyway to watch at that quality. At this stage I have to change the quality level on just about every video, for crust sake there must be a better way!

Log into YouTube and then set the quality, just make sure its not on AUTO.

You should try Opera Max. It can save up to 50% on data on youtube. Plus it runs in the background and compresses the data on all your other apps as well.

How do you force it not to go HD when using the device on WiFi?

Baffles me that something as basic as the video quality can't be preset.
