Is there such a thing has a OS that caters exclusively to multimedia.

I was thinking of getting a small HD capable Atom box and using it has a media server. The thing is I want it so that has soon has I switch it on I want to be like Windows Media Center or a PS3 where I just can browse through content. Is there a Linux based Media OS out there. I don't know if you understand what I'm saying.

Windows Media Centre can perform that function ... it's not a standalone OS but it works nicely esp the Win7 version.

Geexbox works like a live cd by the way, so you don't even have to install it!
