Not a bad deal at all if it’s new, add in an extra 8GB RAM and possibly upgrade the SSD and you’ll have a solid machine.

Thanks for feedback!

I'm still in 2 minds though... if i waited until the end of the year do you think i could get it cheaper? I mean is this deal good enough that i should pounce on it or is it just sort of semi good?

for example there is a Dell G3 at evetech:

R14,499.00
Intel Core i7-9750H
16GB DDR4 RAM
256GB Ultra-Fast NVME SSD + 1TB Hard Drive
GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5 Graphics

specs are better but its a G3 not a G5 - is the G5 that much better than it warrants paying more for lower specs?

How can the G5 be better if the specs are worse? I'd definitely rather get the G3 from what you've shared (or better, wait a little longer for something with a RTX graphics card to get reduced)

Well what are the differences between the two besides cpu/ram/ssd?

Evetech

Private
R13,999
Dell G5 5590
Intel Core i5-9300H
8GB DDR4 RAM + 128GB SSD
GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5 Graphics

The thing is; Evetech is also selling a G5 (same as privtae seller) for R3500 more - this is what i don't understand. Is the G5 that much better?

Does anyone understand this?

Some articles suggest the G3 tends to overheat. It also apparently has a low budget display unit. The G5 never overheats and has a marginally better display unit... still not sure how that can translate into such a difference
