I was supposedly uncapped this morning, but got capped speeds. Somewhat annoying to say the least.

my speeds arent capped speeds, its fluctuating between nothing and 30 kB but its a huge contrast from yesterday night downloading at 140KB/s and sometimes more

It's obvious its a network wide problem, some how I think only after its over WBS will post an incident report probably blaming it on an "uplink partner" like they have done a bunch of times.

I just hope someone called in to tell them about this problem, because otherwise they dont know about it and dont fix it and if its not fixed by 5PM today dont expect it to get fixed untill monday

So we are screwed till Monday then :(
BTW, I phoned Vodacom's 082155 [Technical Helpdesk - btw it's a free call from cellphone] last night at 23:45, and the call was answered without delay - perhaps not much of a queue at that time of night, but I thought about WBS and how they advertise an 0861#, and you have to wait for ~20 mins to get to a human, and it's not 24/7...made me realise just how much of a Mickey Mouse operation WBS actually are...

actually if you phone in at night you get right through, although not anyone you get through to at that time can do anything about your problem

I phoned in 30min ago:
Me: is there a network problem? getting capped speeds..
HD: no sir, you are the first to complain about speed. check your mtu settings pls
me: *sigh* nothing has changed on my side, but it seems like my speed is still capped...
hd: we'll look into it, but only luiz can, and he's out atm. we'll phone you back.

Left the modem running, went for lunch, didn't get disconnected, came back & now the d/l speed is 40k as suppose to 4k earlier on.

Well if you havent had any new session today, it might still think you are capped. May what should do will be to reset your connection.

I have a new session minimum twice a day, as I use my modem at the office & at home. I just meant that from getting 4k in one session, not disconnecting, phoning them, getting back 30mins later, speed went up to 40k....almost as if they went 'oeps' let's just manually take the throttle off...
all very strange
