Anyone noticed a substantial degradation of the iBurst service in the last couple of weeks. Slow (and I mean slow) downloads, continual signal breaks etc??

Yes, Definately in my experience of the last few days, since the 01/07/05 it is definately slower.
Telksom speed test on several occasions is more like 600 than 1024
Mail times out
Pages slow to load
IRC SLOW to connect
Daytime sucky
Nighttime a bit better

Hey Iburst is down. I cant surf the international sites. OK like it is said local is lekker. I can surf sites sites like www.soweto.co.za and not New York and England. lol. Ok tomorrow everything will be fine. I have a dream that 1 day Iburst growing pains will come to an end. All those in favoure say "I".

its not an iburst problem,

uunet international suffered, usa link is down and those routed from capetown to uk, also pretty much down.

No ETA on fix

you can check the iburst network status page for more or better yet check the UUNET network status page, you should still be able to multithread files at fullspeed but latency is all over the show
