Wow. Hyundai is expensive. For a Toyota etios clutch kit and labour my indie charges me 2500. Can’t you try and find a good independent to do it?

As much as I hate handing over cash, I'd rather know my clutch is done by someone I know can do the job. A cheaper half job could end up costing more in the long run

Eish...

I replaced my Golf 6 GTI clutch setup with a performance clutch that included a dual mass flywheel, pressure plate and everything else and it was R9500 a few years ago.

A friend replaced the clutch on his 2018 Polo1.0TSI and it was R3500 for everything.

Both jobs were done at Nazirs Brake and Clutch in Durban. If you are not in Durban maybe still give them a call and ask for a price on your job so you have a reference point. They may know someone in Jhb if you are there.

What performance clutch did you use on the GTi? I had a friend do a clutch change on my old B6 A4 1.8T a few years back and the clutch kit itself was around R7500.

I find the Bosch Service Centres usually in between dealership and Indi prices.
You pay a bit more but they are generally well run and you have got people to complain to if something goes wrong. If you go with a random you really don't know what you are getting into and what their standards are.

Either Sachs or Luk. It's detailed in my rides thread on another forum we have in common. Can't remember. It isn't exactly performance but uprated compared to the weak stock clutch on the mk6. The kit was R8500 and it was R1000 for fitment.

I'll check the other forum, I think I may know which it is, I was under the impression Sachs or Luk was OEM fitment as it was on my Audi.

The kit I had was an OEM replacement but built to handle more power than stock. Basically dealing with the issues of the stock clutch.

Not that it counts much but I recently had the clutch and pressure plate done on my 1972 beetle and it was R4500 including labour.
