As has been pointed out before if these devices worked the manufacturer's would incorporate them as standard equipment because fuel efficiency is a MAJOR selling point for manufacturers.

Its a conspiracy you see! Car manufacturers actually have majority shares in every oil company, and then try and sell us low mileage cars while actually hiding all the really awesome inventions, like this one, so that they make lots of moola on the oil! Promise! ;)

I lol'd on the one forum when i saw this as the guys reason as to why manufacturers don't use it.

Bwahahahaahahahah

Power Balance all over again. When will people learn.

I have power balance bracelets on my driveshaft, exhaust, steering wheel and wheel hubs! Yesterday I was able to do a tight 90° turn at 160km/h!! No loss of traction, no body roll, awesome stuff I tell you!

Dam thought I had solved my wheels's thirst problem 4.2km p/l. :-(

I think your vehicles thirst problem is its engine. If you were worried about fuel consumption you shouldn't have gotten a vehicle with that Hemi engine. (Thats if I understand it correctly, username = car)

I think username = car-when-signing-up. Might have changed since I suppose.

I never quite understood why anyone would design and build a car that only rap artists and pimps could feel comfortable driving... ;-)

The engineers that designed your car are extremely smart people. A huge amount of research has gone into your car to make it a fuel efficient as possible. Research goes into everything from the tread on your tires to the aerodynamics of your windscreen wipers just to save a tiny % of your fuel consumption.

THESE THINGS DON'T WORK

I promise you this does not give you more power, reduce turbo lag or reduce fuel consumption. In fact it will probably do the opposite. The only improvement you will see is due to the placebo effect. Please don't give any of your money and support their scam.

wouldnt spend money on one of these. engines are built ex-factory to certain broad tolerances of performance and economy, so yes there is leeway in terms of getting better of either - usually at the sacrifice of the other but not always; remember the car you bought to drive nicely and slowly 100km to work and back may be bought by an 18 year old drag strip boy racer. Anyway my point is, if you want more kms per litre, the only way is to take it to a good ECU programmer (Revo, SAC etc) who will map the vehicle to run leaner with maybe a small drop in hp but up to 10% better economy (any more than that IN THE REAL WORLD is not really to be expected but still that's a good increase), or vice versa if you want a couple more horses. I've tuned cars for over a decade and tried all teh goodies known and this is the only trustworthy route. Ram air works on high performance cars too but this isn't the TurboFlo market. In fact I would NEVER put this device on any car falling ianywhere near the "perfoemance" bracket i.e. 130kw and above as a rough guide. Such cars are already adjusted more towards performance.

And tehre goes my 2c...:p

I turned my car into a hover car that never needs refueling, thanks to some Power Balance bands, Turbo Flo kits, buttered toast and a cat. True story.

I can back this up! Except I have some dust from a Unicorns horn that helps with acceleration

If you believe this ***** really works, then why not put grease on your brake pads, it'll aid braking and reduce stopping distance. Also add some Bioplus to your fuel tank to increase range and performance by up to 25%.

Wait, what?

Read this: http://www.nissan4x4.co.za/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1644

Also, here is another thread that initially started this debate about 3-4 years ago: Turboflo - Saves fuel increases power?? does it work? A way more intellectual debate than this one, I might add.

Now, I have decided to post in this thread for fear of necro-ing an entire thread of nearly 4 years old, but I would much rather be posting in the one above as they seemed to actually be having a debate.

All other questions aside. If you haven't tried it, how can you debunk it?
Bill Hicks had a nice saying, if you haven't actually "studied" something then stop your internal dialogue, which is occurring right now and just... walk.. away.
What if people have tried it and it actually works?

One is proposed to try it for 3 months and without any problem one is allowed to return it and you will be refunded. :D The other post spoke of increase in power, which tends to draw a lot of people. Manufactured cars are not fitted with this device as they are instead fitted with way better devices. That and companies actually have international suppliers which they stick to. This device is cheap and accessible to a majority of people. It is said that 10% of people experience no difference. Hmm, now I'm no mathematician , but I believe that this means 90% of cases do. If a device that saves me 5% consumption on petrol and only costs me R147.50, I would be more than willing to look into it. Supposed average power increase of 3 - 9kw aside.

Lastly: I doubt a bunch of people who have never tried something, over the span (corrected from "spam") of 1 month is enough to debunk absolutely anything.

How about if it breaks the laws of physics? Or if credible people have tested it and found it lacking? Are you prepared to participate in a pyramid scheme to "test" it?

Heeeeeeeeeeeeyyyy! - I never heard about the BioPlus trick! I still have two garages full left over from the matric exams - [rushes out to chuck BioPlus into the tank]

Mythbusters did a program on these and other "miracle" fuel savers. No prize for guessing the conclusion
