x800xt pe (agp 8x, gigabyte)
mobo (agp 8x, 8usb 2.0 slots, 4 ddr memory slots)
creative soundblaster
2gb ram

im thinking maybe R6000-R7000

GillxXX, u kinda forgot to mention wat CPU is in the system. Or are you selling it without the CPU? Then at least specify what kind of mobo it is that you are selling.

Maybe with a screen yes, without one R6k sounds a bit much. Not sure how much the gfx card is worth, but if it's one of those R3k ones, then i suggest you sell that seperately [or market the mobo appropriately as a gamer-mobo making it clear you got a gfx that costs that much...].

i.e. instead of just listing the specs, actually put the prices of the components next to it, so we can see how you get to R6k ;) . It's usually ALOT more enlightening [for me anyway] to see that part, because sometimes the box REALLY is worth R6k we just don't notice that you might have a 7200RPM [vs a 5400RPM] HDisk etc etc.

There's always [imho] this issue between a good desktop able to handle most things and a gamer-mobo. Sometimes people advertise their box with 1Gb RAM and ask a fortune for it, but neglect to mention they got this super-fast RAM which costs like R2k . So your average joe will look at it and go "what a rippoff" because they are quite happy with R500 RAM.

Heck even 480w PSU..i recently got one, i could choose between an AOpen = R400 or a Thermaltake [or one of those brands] = R900 ....

You will get nowhere near that for the Graphics card. About R1000 is more like it.

And why shouldn't he? That card is exactly as fast a GF6800GT, maybe even faster. A brand new GF6800GT costs in the Region of R2500, so about R1800 should be a fair price if u ask me...

you say 'why shouldnt he get R2300' but then you say he should get R1800? im confused.

a 512MB 7900 can be bought for around R2800 http://shop.prophecy.co.za/index.ph...1&category_id=219&option=com_phpshop&Itemid=6
(person will probly go even cheaper).
But yeah, im sure you could rip someone off and sell it for soo much.

my 2c take it or leave it

I got an offer for R7000. I just hope that person isn't browsing these forums :)

And I managed to find someone selling a 7900gtx (512) for R3000. I don't wanna start a war or anything but are there any people that have an SLi or Crossfire setup?

If you do just mention the positives and negatives. I would defenitely like to hear from people with 2 x1900xtx's or 2 7900gtx's (the lucky bunch).

@ rburley. had a look at the website you linked to. is this pricing correct?

unfortuately that pricing is correct, This is the problem with ATi cards ATM they are too darn expensive. a 7900GT for a R1000 less will kill a X800XT PE. I dont have any links(too lazy to look) but im sure if you google it you will come find something.

I would avoid Crossire and SLi if I were you. Not because they have problems or anyting of the like, its just a cost thing.

In October of This year one NV50 card will be as fast if not faster than your Dual 7900GTX/ X1900XT setup, but will cost you less than half the price. And that oes for the R600 too.

Get one good card like an X1800XT/X1900/GF7900GT/GF7900GTX and you'll be good for the some time but won't have spent so much money.
