Alright, i'm gona shoot from the hip here:

This forum has been very quiet for the last two days. I have been having problems with my connectivity since last night and am still not connected today (have confirmed with 2 users on other towers that they have been experiencing similar problems) . My speeds have been crap for the last 10 days.

My question: Is this place quiet because the rest of you guys are happy with the service, or is it quiet because we have all been disconnected from SH!Tech and only those with alternative connection methods can get throu here?

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHATS GOING ON ???

id vote for the latter, my service was actually unusable early this morning. connected, but nothing would receive (sent requests but no websites came up)

first time my service was really interupted, however, I see my speeds are very unstable, where I had a usual 50-60k downstream, it now jumps up and down so much I sometimes only average 30k!!! sucks!!!

Help save the bandwidth. Decent download speeds for TheRodent! Stop downloading now!!!

Yip.....thank fullt i go to work......has an "ALWAYS UP" service....

I was disconnected at +- 1am last night and was not able to reconnnect even though my PPP connection was getting different ip's when i disconnected and reconnected..... so i think ....

Well hope it is sorted out by the time i get home.... not holding breathe though

whats going is ???.......incompetence at its best.......

Service was also down here btwn 1am and abt 9am. Would connect but no sending and receiving. Looks like it has been working since then.

Also went down at about 12:30, up again at 10.

Averaging only 40MB down in an hour atm. My ISDN was more than twice that :(

My service deteriorated til I could hardly browse web pages last night. Then at about 23h30, I lost all send/receive although I was "connected". This was still the case at 07h00 this morning. I checked this evening and my speeds are attrocious (10kbs Max), but I can send/receive. One of my p2p downloads (700MB) gave me a time estimate of 67DAYS 12 hours to complete.

Needless to say a call to Sensuck has had FA effect.

The whole network was down beyond the radius server. Of course with the 24 hour support, they could only reboot the gateway host after getting to "work" this morning. It was the extreme condition.. there was really NO bandwidth.

A router (the expensive type) went down last night and was only reset this morning...

Apart from that, I get 30kbps on a 256K 19% 57BER 4SNL Connection...maybe we should be thankful that we can connect at all. Maybe one of these days, our complaints will be about not being connected - even 20 kbps will be seen as "Br00dband".

My Yoyo:

Speed has improved: I get 120kps for about 1 second then nothing for 5 seconds, then 20kb for one second then nothing for 5 secs, then 65kb for 1 second.....etc. My 700MB file now will only take 13 days!
There seems to be no rhyme or reason to speeds.

I'm trying to run the Windows Update. After 20 minutes I have received 400k out of 3.5MB

They way Sentech are behaving it seems like we should be happy we are even connected.

I did a speed test as soon as i was back online. Surprise surprise, 39kbps!

Same thing here been of from 1am till 9am. Sucktech is waisting a lot of peoples money and patience. Then I couldn't even get through to the orc dungeon helpdesk.. on hold for 15 minutes.

Is anybody experiencing problems with the mail server? It regularly times out on me. One of my friends with Mydraadloos is having the same problem.

Yeah, i have resorted to checking my mail at a buddys office on his ADSL. It really doesn't surprise me at all that this is the case

Disconnected MySlowness, powered up the ol' 56K, said "hi, me again" to Mweb, connected Satellite, restarted 3 getright downloads (2 being debian iso), 1 with 10 segments, 1 with 8 and the 3rd with 4. Doesn't drop below 100kb, ave 125-ish, spiking 200+, sharezaa is looking for some sources in the background, reading this forum.....man, feels like the Captain Morgan ad, life just can't get better :) Must remember to disconnect tomorrow morning though LOL

What I find sad is that the Mweb sat service runs on infosat's infrastructure last time I checked....which means it runs on sentech....

In my professional capacity we work with Sentech... for me however the issues I have with MySmokeSignal are impacting on my opinion of their business offerings. One would have thought that sentech knows this and would make an effort to keep their customers and the public in their side....

Personally I think the silence (as per forum topic) is Sentech winning - we're all just too tired to bitch anymore.

For me it's simple -- I need the ****ty service -- adsl is not available for me and our complex has such fscked wiring that a modem doesn't cross 33.6 (oh wait - that's sentech broadband).

So what can one do......

(drinking beer, thinking about another R20.00 down the drain today --- if it worked I'd not mind paying)

True on the mweb sat=infosat=sentech. So the question is, why can I sustain those speeds (95 Mb in the last hour), but not via MySlowness ? Same b/w provider in the end, isn't it? BTW, according to winipcfg the sat/vpn IP is 168.210.90.x , why does this look so familiar ?
