How are you and the rest of us going to be spared from this "reality check" that you are hoping for?

There won’t be any stealing and looting if you don’t have hands to put in the coffers. Speaking of “coffers”, everyone reverts to Islam and we live under the new caliphate.

Anything is better than ANC, right?

This just feels like an awful cosmic joke. Love the place. The people. They deserve so much more.

Hopefully the international community stands in to send serious help to quell this situation. Or is that too much interventionism?
Hopefully the people stand up and kick the terrorist out.

The international community will do more harm than good. People need to learn to figh their own battles.

The port is used for cargo deliveries to the oil projects about 60km (37 miles) away, which are being developed by oil giants including Total.

Nigeria here we come. Private contractors/mercenaries to be hired in order to protect Total's interests?

Those private contractors are already in play and have been since they started those oil contracts....

We have the private security already.

Calling them security instead of contractors/ mercenaries just sounds better.

That's a joke. They supply foreign markets. Selling to yourself is not a good business strategy.
Isn't Mozambique a foreign market?

They are technically bankrupt. Won't be able to do jack.

But, I am sure there are many companies who will try be the saviour, but actually do nothing but steal from the Moz people.
Selling Guns and ammo to each side - start making a profit again.

Well, according to Google they are indeed already there.

Seems that they prefer to be ambiguous when describing themselves.

Private military contractors appear to be active in Mozambique

Nevertheless, the presence of the Gazelles indicates private military contractors are once again operating in Mozambique. According to the Daily Maverick, privately owned helicopters strafed an Ahlu Sunnah wa Jamaa (ASWJ) jihadist base in Mozambique’s Muede area on 8 April and then attacked other bases in Mbau in the Awassi district and in Muidumbe the following day.

It has been reported that the helicopters in Mozambique are operated by Dyck Advisory Group, owned by former Colonel Lionel Dyck. The company describes itself as having years of experience in the fields of demining, explosive hazard management, specialised security, canine services and counter poaching. The company can either provide advisory services or “oversee the solutions launch”.

Utilising his global contacts and supporting organizations as well as his wealth of experience in planning and implementing solutions operations in a broad spectrum of activities Colonel Dyck has established a new consulting organisation, the Dyck Advisory Group, to continue offering world class innovative solutions to selected clientele.
