Isle of Man TT or RWC?

Made a decision this morning and the wife and I will go to either of these 2.

Brother in-law stays on Isle of man and sister in-law stays in England. I have decided that this year we'll do one or the other. Problem is which? I'm sure we'll travel between Isle of Man and England on the trip anyway. Which would you choose?

I have been to the TT before and would love to do it again. But on the other hand the RWC in England would be a blast. (Can't afford both )

My biggest problem is the duration: TT - 2 weeks, RWC 5 weeks. This makes the TT more practical leave wise...

Other draw back is that the TT is only a month away. Pretty close to arrange everything. But it can be done.

I JUST DON'T KNOW!!!

I'm heading to the RWC - though maybe not for the full five weeks. We'll see how things go.

I had a look and SA's first game I would like to see is Scotland vs SA. 03/10/2015. That is almost a month from the playoffs.

I can probably take a gamble and skip that only to go the last 2 - 3 weeks. But how do I buy tickets for those games now not knowing who will play where?

Well, getting tickets you want for the RWC isn't really a given, so keep that in mind.

I was planning on going but couldn't get tickets for the games I wanted, so moved my trip elsewhere.

Also, London will be stupidly expensive because of RWC.

where is easy - have look - SA is Group B so their quarter and Semi will be at Twickenham.

It's when that is the question.

I've only booked tickets for the first round - I'll sort out any others later.

Very true. We won't spend much as we'll stay with my sister in-law. Will cost a penny on entertainment though

I don't mind buying tickets for all the semi games and finals(If final tickets still available). Just scared I can't flog those I don't need online before the games. Tickets are insanely expensive and would be a damn waste if I'm stuck with tickets I don't need.

lol - I just had a look and they're not cheap are they. Up to £250 for the quarters and £515 for the semis…

Yea, also on tickets.rugbyworldcup.com now. But not getting the damn verification e-mail to check ticket prices.

That's just the thing. Forking out R 6k+ for a ticket you won't need is a bit hectic. Not a problem if you're guaranteed a sell if not needed. But that's a tall ask though. Will probably have to take a gamble. If SA makes the games I hoped then it's all good. If not try and flog the tickets and just enjoy the trip. Maybe watch the games at a fan park then instead :D

I think these prices are accurate - https://tickets.rugbyworldcup.com/site/assets/FixtureList.pdf

True, but I've done it before. I'll be honest just looking at the ticket pricing and re-selling issues it does make the TT seem a lot less of a pain. Grab a picnic basket and go sit on a hill. Dop and watch bikes all day. Wife will hate it though. In England at least she can go to walk the streets and go shopping. On Isle of man for that 2 weeks it's only booze and bikes :D. Nothing else happens on the Isle for those 2 weeks.

bwana,

Seems like there are still tickets for the Semis SA plays in. But they not available currently.

Final is sold out already. As well as the 2 other Semis

First world problem you have here!

But i would choose the TT anyday, nice atmosphere, nice people, and the RWC will be stupid expensive as mentioned before
