haha I guess so - I also leave the key in my VW's ignition, that's in a secure garage though - not even the manual override works :p

(now I'm just waiting for the day I open my garage by mistake
 
Strange that the key is on its own, no keyring, or remote or other keys. I think this could be someone deliberately wanting their car stolen so they can claim from insurance.
 
The key looks stuck at an angle so the lock barrel may have seized with the key inside.

Na I do the same - prefer to keep my car key separate from other keys so that I can leave the rest in the car when I'm out.

Yup... and you don't have a bunch of keys knocking the steering column every time you go round a corner. This and other rattles drive me insane.
