Isonic QR130 Media players Recorders

I'm looking at getting one of these Isonic QR130 Media players Recorders.
Has anyone bought one of these and can give me some advice or if it was a topic already, to steer me to the post.

Are there others on the market beside the big names like Sony, Samsung, LG etc.

If you want to "futureproof" yourself, make sure the player/recorder can play mkv files, I have a Fantec 1080i recorder, can record dstv etc 100%
BUT, doesn't play mkv files and sometimes struggles with avi etc and you then have to convert which is a mission for starters and you might loose quality if you are not sure what you are doing.
I now have an htpc running xbmc (xbmc.org) and this fantec as the recorder, but if you have a spare pc, you can turn it into a media center and pvr recorder.

Do some research to see what the interface looks like as well, some are nice others look krap.
google the name for reviews etc
