Better Wi-Fi for South Africa

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa's (Icasa) decision to make 500MHz of bandwidth available for Wi-Fi has tripled the capacity available for in-vehicle and in-building wireless networks.

This is according to the Internet Service Providers' Association of South Africa (Ispa), which also said the improved connectivity would only be realized if users upgrade to equipment that supports Wi-Fi 6e.

Cool, hopefully freeing up 5Ghz a bit
not going to happen, too much legacy equipment laying around. and every bloody smart device, TV, printer or lightbulb is starting to use 5Ghz now.

most of the serious WISP guys are using 17ghz or 11ghz for their backhaul.

so your best bet is to adopt 6Ghz first.

Meh, 5Ghz still ok on backhaul.

Depends on the area. It's still great for rural. But if you are going over the top of a city, it's a mess.
I am, it's not bad, I've seen utterly **** connections but it's sometimes the big boys and their utterly useless tower guys and miss alignment that makes things tough.
