ISP's plans for fixed LTE in South Africa

Not surprising considering how small the footprint of 5G is in this country at the moment.

Just moved to 5G as Fixed-LTE-A, was not providing the required bandwidth in the late afternoon and evenings. Tower congestion.

@ MyBB / Myles, this is the 2nd article I've seen of this type where you've listed the Telkom 10 Mbps uncapped at R299 and left it at that, far as I can determine.

There's a footnote to that price, for that FUP quantity of data - 600 GB to start with, which instead shows 500 GB on Axxess' website.

The main thing is that the price goes up to R599 after the 2 month promo price - refer to the GREEN BANNER.

Unless I'm not seeing where you pointed it out, maybe you'll get it correct the next time ?

This is what I'm referring to in your table :

10Mbps uncapped
R299
Telkom
600GB threshold, then 50GB at 4Mbps, thereafter 2Mbps

See screenshots.

Is it really worth the investment, with only 33% of South Africans being Covid-vaccinated?

I and I'm sure others would happily pay R299 pm for that quantity of data if it was a permanent price.

Afrihost really the only ISP that has no FUP cap on Telkom LTE?

What's the best LTE/5G option for backup to Fibre for work-from-home?

Best depends on numerous factors, coverage for one, number of users on tower, during your work period. Fistance from tower, obsticales between you and the tower which router you have, and so on.
