Israel Folau is to be sacked by Rugby Australia following his latest social media posts, leaving the Wallabies facing the prospect of heading to the World Cup in Japan without one of their best players.

RA released a statement on Thursday night, saying it had failed in its attempts to contact the player over the past 24 hours and its intention was to terminate his contract barring “compelling mitigating factors”.

“Rugby Australia and the New South Wales Rugby Union have made repeated attempts to contact Israel both directly and via his representatives since 6.30pm on Wednesday, and at this point he has failed to communicate directly with either organisation,” the statement read.

“Whilst Israel is entitled to his religious beliefs, the way in which he has expressed these beliefs is inconsistent with the values of the sport. We want to make it clear that he does not speak for the game with his recent social media posts.

“Israel has failed to understand that the expectation of him as a Rugby Australia and NSW Waratahs employee is that he cannot share material on social media that condemns, vilifies or discriminates against people on the basis of their sexuality."

Didn't he also have to wear LGBT rainbow laces two years ago when Australia promoted LGBT in sports?

Their neighbour's, The All Blacks, did it last year in November.

Australia is also too conservative in my opinion, back in 2015,

NRL referees scrap pink shirts in a bid to increase their authority
The pink jersey worn by Australian rugby league referees is being scrapped as there is a feeling among officials that it undermines their authority.

NRL refs will wear blue or red, colours believed to encourage discipline, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

But the move has come in for criticism for alienating certain groups.

Dr Tom Heenan, of the National Centre for Australian Studies, said: "I don't think this move away from pink really supports social inclusion."

Heenan told the BBC World Service that the change risks alienating the gay community and breast cancer awareness groups.

He said: "If you are wanting a more inclusive football community you have to be more aware of the symbolisms of marginal groups within that community."

Some referees believe the pink uniform makes their job harder, but psychologist Chris Pomfret believes there is no evidence to support this.

He said: "I'm not aware of any evidence the colour pink would make any difference to how an official is perceived by the people they are officiating over, the crowd, coaches or any other observers.

"And how would a different coloured shirt change the skill executions in practical terms or respect in credibility."

Pink

Folau is stupid.

He seems a little obsessed with gay guys

Not sure he deserves to be fired for his opinions though.

We're reaching a point with all this SJW shyte, where you dare not raise an opinion as if it doesn't fits the common narrative you are seen as being someone with thoughts of your own and freewill.

We should not allow people to dictate others on what can and can't be said. EVERYONE has a right to an opinion, and should be allowed to raise it publicly. Let them deal with the wrath it draws if any. Why should his employers or anyone else now feel the need to punish him?

Free speech is dying very very quickly. Welcome to Germany 1930s

SJW's are hypocrites. Panties getting knotted because someone said something bad about gays. When people say bad stuff about the orange man their mouths are shut.
