Take out the "homosexuals" line and no-one would've batted an eyelid.
What gets me is it seems it was all the straight people who took offence on behalf of the homosexuals that made all of the noise
Jississ, I reckon I am going to hell 8 times over according to his post, and I still schmaak to see Israel play

No one has a right to be employed, if his Christianity is not at odds with fulfilling the obligations of job then there is no valid reason to not give him a contract or let him play rugby(like all the other Christians who play rugby). Like it or not, professional rugby union teams rely on sponsorship, it's not just about playing rugby. Qantas don't simply throw money at the Wallabies for the fun of it, they sponsor them in the expectation that Aussie rugby players will represent and enhance their brand. If Folau causes damage to the brand that Qantas represents they will put pressure on the ARU to have him change is behavior or risk their sponsorship.

Wait, you said that if he made his stance on Christianity known they might not have signed him. That was your words not mine?

You are trying to justify this in some way. He doesn't just play for the Wallabies, he plays for the, Waratahs, what about the Toulon offer being pulled and now ARL also saying outright he will not be welcome. So the Qantas airlines thing doesn't "fly" so to speak.

There is ZERO justification for the way they are treating him because of his religion and him not being PC about it.

Doesn't take away from the fact that he should be allowed to post his religious views without fear or prejudice. Don't like it, ignore it /facepalm

No one has stopped him from posting his stuff, he just cant under the employment of a company that has a public image to withhold. Its just a simple employment contract breach.

Are you saying that the ARU have to employ him and allow him to do whatever the hell he wants in public as long as he hides behind the "it's my religion" shield?

So are you suggesting that employers are obliged/required to hire people that might damage their chances of retaining their current sponsors or attracting new ones, that they must risk their brand identity because "PC is bad"?

That's exactly why they have a constitution, to prevent people being discriminated against based on (in this case) Religion. No matter how you spin it. His way of practicing his religion might not fit your PC narrative. He is allowed to do it without fear or prejudice. Excluding him because of his religion conviction would be against the constitution.

This is not as simple as you all would try and make it out to be. Even worse so in Nanny Australia

I'm amazed that people who don't believe in hell can get so upset by being told they're heading there
Talk. About. Missing. The. Point.

No atheist is upset about that. What confounds atheists is the internal, virulent hypocrisy of religion.

Your religion says as long as you repent and admit your sins and accept Jesus into your life you are absolved of the crime of killing. He goes to Heaven.

A calm peaceful guy who lives in the Forrest, care for his community and never hurts a soul will go to Hell, because he doesn't believe in your God, he believes in the tree that supplies him with food everyday.

But why get upset about someone posting something you disagree with?

He was being honest but also just cherry picking.
I don't mind if he thinks going to hell for my choices itsy choice.
Nonsense, cherry picking and hypocrisy are 3 pillars of religion. Thou shall not murder vs hundreds of violent instructions from god. And so on..

Israel's post didn't bother me at all.

What I find funny is all the hypocrisy from religious people in the defence of him and their faith.

Once again, he is not being dismissed for his religious conviction, he is being dismissed for violating social media clause which he agreed to...

You know that religious organisations in Australia are allowed to discriminate based on religion when hiring people? Yet strangely you think that certain religious behaviours shouldn't disqualify you when it violates the norms and values of an organisation?
