Points 1 and 2 are part of the same thing , the employer let him go because they were scared people would start some massive campaing and call them all the things he is being called , you dont really believe that corporations have morals do you ? inanimate names for groups of people having feelings , thats silly.

Still he does not deserve this and he is not bigoted or hateful for expressing his religious beliefs , hurting feelings should be met with others trying to hurt his or just not getting offended, in life some people wont like you , leave them alone and do your thing or sulk about it ,get offended and plot their downfall , its up to the individual.
