Already CONFIRMED it was never changed when he signed his new 4 year contract. That is the reason he's fighting it. There was a source quoted on Skynews when I read it last night. Will try find it again.

Please do, if it wasn't changed then the ARU are in for a hiding as they need to prove the breach at the code of conduct committee.

Looking for it now, was reading about some England star who also got in hot water for supporting him. It then had a piece about his contract now being changed when he signed the new 4 year deal or something.

Found this one, but this is from News24.

Castle and Rugby Australia's processes were again questioned Wednesday after The Daily Telegraph reported that Folau's contract had no specific clause about social media use and speculated it could be used as a defence against his sacking.

"At the end of the day, either Israel Folau will stay standing or Raelene Castle will stay standing," former Wallabies forward Peter FitzSimons, who had called for him to be fired, said told commercial television broadcaster Nine on Wednesda

Thanks, I found this one...

Rugby Australia failed to insert social media constraints in Israel Folau's contract, media report states

Rugby Australia tried and failed to insert social media restraints into Israel Folau's contract, one Sydney media report states.

The Daily Telegraph says that Folau, who signed a $4m four year deal last year, refused to have the additional clauses retrospectively inserted into his contract, as was his right.

Folau has until Wednesday evening to lodge notice that he will fight the termination of his contract

Makes me wonder if they did that deliberately - threaten to sack him, but know that they will be "forced" to keep one of their best players...

These are very difficult concepts about which reasonable minds might differ. Even Rugby Australia’s inclusion policy is not without its difficulties. Clearly the intent is to whole-heartedly "include" the gay community in the rugby movement. But is its intention to "exclude" traditional Christian and other religious beliefs? The controversy threatens to become a legal and moral minefield.

Interesting take by a former Aussie supreme court judge:

Who gives a rat's what some brain damaged rugby player thinks. He isn't payed for his opinions but his considerable ability to either put a ball behind a line or to arrange for said ball to be placed behind that line.

The problem is that we put his opinions in the headlines. Ignore him and he'll go back to what he does well.

Does Folau actually want to play in the club after this if he wins? Would anyone even pass him the ball?
He made himself an untouchable pariah...

He o
Bully for him, must have a thick skin not seeing himself included in what Folie said
He obviously sees himself included, just mature enough in himself to be able to disagree without throwing a tantrum. Wilson believes what he believes, Folau believes what he believes and Wilson seems willing to be tolerant of someone who holds a different view.

Isn't the twat sacked yet FFS?!

19 pages to discuss what?
No. He has a hearing scheduled for Saturday. Legal opinion seems to be that this is definitely not an open and shut case. Complicating matters further is that siding with Folou with upset the liberal public while ruling against him will upset many of his teammates (particularly those of Polynesian background) who share his beliefs.
