Why? I don't care what he said, so what ,just another slightly daft religious nutter. Then again I don't run a corporation sponsoring him:sneaky:

He can spread is vile bs from his church. Sport should not tolerate such individuals in the game...

That basically means sport should exclude all adherents of abrahamic religions for starters as their stance on homosexuality is pretty clear.

Well if you hate gays then youre homophobic guys... It's a pretty accurate label.

He did not say he hates gays he said they amongst others are going to hell which is pretty much in line with the religion.

Pretty much implied if you wish them to experience an eternity of suffering and pain though

He never said he wished for that. You are either deliberately misrepresenting his comments, or you misunderstand them.

Because hating homosexuals is a new trend that does not appear in early translations of that religious text.

It goes back to the tanakh & old testament in hebrew so it's nothing new.

.וְאֶת-זָכָר, לֹא תִשְׁכַּב מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִשָּׁה — תּוֹעֵבָה הִוא
"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is detestable."
- Lev. 18:22

"And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed a detestable act: They shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
- Lev. 20:13

Not what he said, he said they are going to hell. Johnny if you play with matches you are going to burn yourself does not equal Jonny I wish you burn yourself because you're playing with matches.

He may not have expressly stated he wishes them to go to hell... But listing them and stating hell awaits is not exactly far off.

I think ponder's post above illustrates the difference well
I fundamentally disagree with that... One is a provable outcome obviously and one is a belief structure..

But that is a different argument obviously and doesn't belong in this thread...

Personally I think the label is 100% accurate... But it is merely an opinion

He reiterated what the scripture says, a scripture from a religion with 2.2 billion followers.

Do we also exclude the 2.2bil from sport due to their free & willing association with a religion that has nothing good to say about homosexuals or do we adopt the hypocritical approach of the us military don't ask don't tell mindset and all is good. Then there's freedom of religion, a constitutional guarantee in many places...

His belief is his choice... Him using a social media platform to put forth his beliefs to that many people is a problem...

Many sportsman are more than likely homophobic or have very weird beliefs... But they don't use their social media platforms to espouse those beliefs to millions.

I thought Christianity was all about the New Testament? That and there are tons of Christians who are gay and/or don’t have a problem with gays.

But these Old Testament guys are cavemen. And I wonder how he feels about mixed fabrics?
