His belief is his choice... Him using a social media platform to put forth his beliefs to that many people is a problem...

Many sportsman are more than likely homophobic or have very weird beliefs... But they don't use their social media platforms to espouse those beliefs to millions.

His religion also encourages the spreading of the word of god...

BS. Secondly you see people quoting bible scripture on a daily basis on social media sports people included, you see them praying on the field, you see team prayers on the field and change rooms, you see them thanking god for winning at the after game interview broadcast live to millions around the globe. Those are all dandy until someone picks a verse that's not so popular.

I thought Christianity was all about the New Testament? That and there are tons of Christians who are gay and/or don’t have a problem with gays.

But these Old Testament guys are cavemen. And I wonder how he feels about mixed fabrics?

Depends on who you ask, many don't even recognize the NT. Then you get the NT followers that only cherry pick what they want in the NT and to hell with the rest.

It’s a bit crazy all these people all following the same book/s and getting 1000s of different interpretations. I dunno, you’d think the word of God would somehow be unambiguous. Is that to much to ask of, erm, a god?

But yeah, I’ve always found it quite remarkable how a persons interpretation of their religion amazingly matches their own biases and bigotry

Yip, and as soon as you point out scripture to them opposing their views they get angry or storm off in a huff

I recall Folau playing rugby on a Saturday, not sure why he hasn't been killed yet.

That basically means sport should exclude all adherents of abrahamic religions for starters as their stance on homosexuality is pretty clear.

Only those who chose to openly try to discriminate against other groups. Folau chose this path...

Sport is a unifying force. No room for those who want to discriminate...

So he's welcome to practise his faith as long as he stays away from the bits you don't agree with?

You need to think that through a bit.

He said sinners are going to hell, which happens to include gays. Nowhere did he deny someone a job because they are gay or slapped them because they are gay which is actual discrimination.

Someone heard homosexuals and ran with that, let's look at what was actually said.

Look at all that in context and try again.

As an atheist, fornicator, adulterer and weekend drunk what about me and my feelings, oh right nobody gives a flying fsck because I'm not gay thus no outrage. If that image he took from instagram did not include the word homosexual none of you hypocrites would have batted an eyelid and this would not even make the news.

According to you bleeding hearts I should be highly offended due to this 'discrimination', to the contrary I find it amusing.

His rugby skills are way greater than his religious discernment and comprehension skills. He then made the mistake of thinking they were equal.
His next mistake was to mouth about what he perceived as his God given duty.

So, you think being homosexual is some sort of lifestyle choice? Its just the same as getting drunk or lying?

It's not what I think ffs, it's what his religion says. It's a sin in the abrahamic religions in case you have not noticed.

It's also a sin to remarry if your ex is still alive - nobody seems to care about that.

Depends on which sect you ask, catholics would probably take issue. In that picture he posted it probably falls under adultary.

Let people believe what they want, secondly freedom of religion is protected under the constitution in many countries.

If it's my belief that gingers turn into vampires when they die how exactly does that affect the lives of gingers?
