Countries need to stay out of pseudo-wars and fights via 3rd parties , giving ethnic enemies lands next to/inside each other , it never ends well.
They did the same thing two times in SA, once in 1910 and once in 1994.

Odd how both Jew and Afrikaner nationalist governments started in 1948 though.....

In the peace talks that followed the end of the war, parts of the Ottoman Empire were handed over to the French to control and parts were handed over to the British – including Palestine. Britain governed this area under a League of Nations mandate from 1920 to 1948.

Historical overview
Prior to dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire, the population of the area comprising modern Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip was not exclusively Muslim. Under the Empire's rule in the mid-16th century, there were no more than 10,000 Jews in Palestine, making up around 5% of the population.

I think what you're missing is that there were no nations, rather nomadic groups and settlements. Perhaps watch the movie "Lawrence of Arabia" to first relax, then go and read up what actually really happened here. His claim to fame was that for the first time he managed to unite these groups - no small feat.

A personal observation: You have rather an unusual approach to being learning about history; by riling up the members

For the past 100 years this conflict was excerbated by Egypt, Jordan and Syria who are now Israeli allies. Only thing stopping the peace process is Hamas who are intrumental in oppressing their own people. These guys will forever bang on about destroying Israel and getting back the land like our own BLF and EFF whilst their people suffer.
You get what you vote for.

And he knew he would never get Britain to keep up their end of the bargain, he literally swindled the tribes and felt acutely guilty about it afterwards.

Mad dog ....... More like people whose land was given away to their enemies by the British.
Meh I don't care tbh , all countries including Israel should cease all illegal/technically illegal stuff and drop their apartheid style laws.(if they have them)
Israel doesn't have any "Apartheid" style laws, it's neighbours (including the Palestinian Authorities) do however.
