You are right that Hamas is hiding behind civilians. The Israelis have right to return fire since an act of war was commited. Sadly all this leads to is not deterrence but more attacks. However, what can you do? If they don't retaliate it will be seen as a sign of weakness - if they do it's seen as a sign of enequal use of force. Damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Hamas aren't stupid, they know this and have their agenda. The more pictures of bloodied babies there are on TV
the more sympathy they believe they can get from the West and more funding they can receive from certain donor
organisations.

Hamas is not innocent and like not all jews follows the current political ways of Israel not all pAlestinians are violent (wow that might shock some of you guys).

What it comes down to is if Israel stuck to there borders as defined by the Un resolutions (yes they are defined). Maybe the rockets would be less.

If you opress a people to the extent that Israel has, then you reap what you sow.

I wonder if this happened to your town/family weather your reaction would be so cavalier.

Everyone knows that Israel has superior weaponry and cough nuclear power.
This act should go to show the world that Israel is as agressive as Iran if not worse.

Defend isael all you want but until the occupied territories are returned they are and will always be on the wrong side.
