iStore attacked by armed gang

I literally was there like an 2 hours ago. :wtf:
 
Yeah, expect more of the same to happen.

Then one of four things will happen :

1. Tech shops will "convert" to security like jewelry shops
2. Mall management will start to use metal scanners etc at the entrances to scan for suspicious stuff.
3. Tech shops will move out to more "secure" or safer premises.
4. Brick and mortar shops will be replaced by virtual shops - where you have to order online.

No, because they sell PC's, Tablets, Accessories etc..

I would actually assume that cellphones constitute the smallest portion of an iStores revenue.
 
I also wondered if Apple could hard lock those devices remotely. Suspect not or they would have not stolen it

New phones still need to be activated so they're useless. That doesn't stop them from selling them to people who don't know better.

This is not the first time Cresta has been hit by a armed robbery. The last hit was not too long ago. It seems that the open parking allows for a quick and easy exit (and the same goes for Northgate). Such a pity, as it makes me think twice about going to Cresta in the future. I would rather shop in an environment where I know a getaway is not as simple.

In light of this, Menlyn is just as vulnerable. Too close to a highway.

Not going to detail what or how, but it can be done.
