It is very much possible but I really doubt if he ever thought his gupta-stan would end. He is really really not that bright. He is deceitful but that is different thing.

no, only "clever" and deceitful people around him were guptas and they won't have anything to do with him now. Even earlier, at no point, they had his interests in mind and once they realized he is a liability, they threw him out like a used condom. He was their useful idiot at best.
However, it is possible that he has some cash stashed in dubai, as could be witnessed when his son was frolicking in emirates a while ago.

Besides his son, and his entourage, I can assure you there are very powerful and clever people surrounding him. His wealth is long gone and stashed abroad. Easy to move huge amounts of money if you know the right people.
