South Africa's record-high petrol prices mean it is now time to change how fuel costs are calculated in the country, says the Automobile Association of South Africa (AA).

Scrap the RAF levy and enforce compulsory Full Third Party insurance on all vehicles. Change the law to allow for impounding of any vehicles on the road without said insurance.

I also wondered, i mean it know its job creation but in the US i've put my own fuel in many times and I didn't die. Its quite easy to do.

Who will then pay all those ambulance chasers and all the employees of the RAF and and and...

Even though the suggestion is the most logical solution to removing a chunk of the price of fuel, it would be totally unpalatable to our political masters.
