IT Helpdesk Technician in a High Tech Startup -> DevOps

Overscore is a high tech self-funded startup which is building advanced embedded image processing software and data analysis platforms. Overscore is located in Parkhurst, Randburg.

We are looking for a Junior Helpdesk engineer who is highly driven and/or has the relevant experience or academic qualifications. Your background MUST BE within any area of Information Technology and you must demonstrate a strong personal interest in this field to be considered.

Your function will be to provide remote support to our clients, (This is a very light load on our Helpdesk, around 2 days weekly) and mainly assist in the deployment of servers and other cloud services. You need to be willing to build up to a project manager where you can supervise installation teams on site and be accountable for the handover of the technologies on site. We believe this is a good opportunity to grow into a Devops role within our startup.

Minimum Requirements:
Prior experience in an IT and/or development environment
2+ years of personal or work experience in Linux based operating systems
2+ years of personal or work experience in Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating systems.
Reliable own transport

Further knowledge or experience in the following fields is a bonus:
- Linux Server Administration (LAMP Stack) - Ubuntu / CentOS
- cPanel and WHM (We still run 2 production servers with this Shared Hosting Platform)
- IP Surveillance Technologies (Network Cameras)
- Network Configuration and basic Engineering (Managed Switches, VLANs, etc...).

Salary / Compensation
This is market related but we are prepared to pay more for individuals who have strong personal experience with IT the various levels of DevOps skills vs Helpdesk skills will be taken into account
