If anything the Unions are front and center of the ongoing destruction.

If the Unions wanted a country to succeed in the short/medium/long term, they would be pushing the government to make the hard choices and retrench staff to ensure the ongoing employment of the majority of their members, rather than the very real possibility of unemployment for all of their members.
The Unions govern, not the ANC ... , no Union support, no ANC. Unions say jump, ANC asks how high and how often

NUMSA are just a bunch of morons. Should anything happen on a SAA flight, guess who will be the first suspect.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!
The trainee's are probably more qualified than the people on strike.

They should declare unions illegal, ban them and arrest anyone who still function part of a union. They are terrorists aimed at destroying the economy, the country and overthrowing the government.
Nah. Just get them in a room and slap the living **** out of them until they promise to behave.

Mmmm.... We all should see the demise of SAA as an opportunity for other Airlines. Now competitive pricing can in and they can enlarge their footprint in SA. (Example R 7000-00 for a return flight from Bloem to Durban is madness. Only 1 flight a day. SA Express). I can fly to Europe for that amount.

Suppose it depends on how far in advance you book your flight, as you can see below the pricing is not quite that dramatic, but even R4000.00 is rather dramatic. Problem is, if there was enough demand on that route, you would have the LCC's competing on it with lower pricing. Is there demand? It is Bloem after all.

After costing them eight days in unpaid wages in a strike that should never have happened, Numsa caved in and accepted the very same 5.9% increase it had been offered before the strike. In other words, the union cost its members a quarter of their monthly salary for absolutely no gain. Of course, that did not stop Jim from proclaiming this colossal loss as victory. A red lie!
