I dont think so. Swede law still doesnt state that torrent files are illegal.

yeah you're hyping it up because of thew recent busts, the warez thing is way larger than this. OK let me break it down, in certain EU countries downloading is OK but uploading or serving isn't, now in sweden downloading might be illegal (still needs to be tested) however all a torrent is, is a system to find out where to download a peice of a file that when later assembled becomes a pirated entity.

So the law says downloading illegal stuff is illegal but thepiratebay doesnt offer anything to download, besides torrent, in effect all it does is tell you where to get the illegal stuff and thats not illegal

Here's another problem, if i offer a file and you download piece 1 and 4 from me and all the other peices from someone else, because the peices you download from me are not whole and are archives, they do not represent copyrighted content, so the EU is now pondering on how much of a file you need to share and how close it is to the original form before they can prosecute.

what you don't mention is how reform laws are already in place within sweden, holland and canada to lift the new laws because it has been compared to prohibition, that is a victimless crime, impossible to stop and of course you cannot prove company losses since you dont know if the user would have bought game x or movie y anyway if they didnt have access to the pirated goods.
