Bad news about IT salaries in South Africa

Pnet's Job Market Trends report for October 2024 has revealed that average salaries for .Net developers and IT project managers have declined significantly since 2021 and returned to similar levels seen in 2018.

At the same time, the average salaries of data analysts and other IT roles have remained relatively unchanged in the past three years, which Pnet says indicates a static trend over time.

I don't know how these guys come up with this data. In the real world I can tell you that you will not get a good senior .NET developer for less than a R100k a month.
