By all means bitch about it in the Current Affairs section or whatever, not in this thread.

This is not his choice, he's advertising on their behalf, and it doesn't seem to be their choice either. When you're running your own company and are put in the position of being forced to hire BEE candidates, then please tell the government to f-off and let us know how that works out for you. The cost of doing business in SA. Until then stop blaming companies for being racist just because you're bitter that you as a white male can't apply (even though white females can).

Thanks for the back up appreciate it I try not to get bent by this kind of thing but i'm a girl and can't keep away from a potentially good argument

So to be clear BEE = Black, Indian, Asian, Coloured and disabled candidates, white females no longer fall into the category.

If you want to apply for a BEE position yes. Otherwise there's nothing stopping you from applying for a normal position...

I agree with some of the statements made here. I work for a few companies and have two of my own (although I don't employ permanent staff).

It's not the poster's fault that the company needs to comply with BEE. One of the companies I work for would rather not, but to get that big fat Eskom contract every year, they absolutely need to comply with BEE or no contract. If you are the owner of a company making millions of rands every year from one single contract that requires BEE compliance you would not be bitching about BEE or racism. Put yourself in their shoes. I'm white and you don't see me bitching.

No, find out how other white males get jobs as they have the highest levels of employment and the lowest levels of unemployment in the whole country. Your demographic is better off than any AA candidate.
