I simple procedure of porting my number from Vodacom to iTalk MTN has ended in frustrations

As I write;

- iTalk has delivered the new phone that comes with the contract. However, iTalk cellular has not completed the porting to their MTN network. So far, this renders their MTN simcard useless. However, my account is being debited for this service.

- Vodacom say the porting request was successfully done on their side. However, I cannot cancel their contract until iTalk cellular has completed the porting. This means for now, I have to continue paying for my Vodacom contract for no fault of mine.

- I have called iTalk three times, every second day since last week Monday. I was promised that the problems would be fixed within 24 hrs. On Friday last week, 24 hrs became 24 business hrs. Today, nothing has been done expect 24 hr promises by them.

Additionally, I’m now left with the following problems

- All my MTN business and private contacts are unable to reach me by Call, SMS and MMS while I use my Vodacom simcard

- All my Vodacom, Cell-C and landline business and private contacts are unable to reach me by Call, SMS and MMS while I use my new iTalk MTN simcard

iTalk Cellular have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. You’ll be lucky to get through their call centre without your phone burning your ears from minutes of waiting.

I do not recommend iTalk to anyone.

I totally agree with the above statement. The iTalk after sale services are pathetic to say the least. I took a contract out with them using a Nokia N95, im now right back on my old Vodacom Talk 120.

The facilities and services required are simply not offered by iTalk. Minutes, Unbilled amounts, everything you would expect regarding your account information is missing from their site.

Really not good.

i must say their service isnt at all great, had huge problems with them, but the upside is their specials are really good. 469 for laptop, data card and R300 airtime/mnth and 2 sims.

since i dont talk much i now sit with almost R2k worth of airtime on the one sim

I got the N95 at a R2500 discount with iTALK compared to upgrading my Vodacom contract.

In hindsight, i have lost thousands of rands worth of:

- the time I spent calling iTALK
- the lost opportunities due to people not able to reach me

As we speak, still nothing done by iTALK.
