oh :)
My wife used to live in Sarasota before I met her in Cape Town

We are in Boca Raton and were sitting here watching the clouds build from the south and come up towards us and they are pitch black and the thunder is overhead now and the wind has died slightly but temp is still in high 20's early thirties.

Raining here now.

Sorry I am in Florida, USA.

haha
wait till you experience storms of a different kind altogether over there.

** bright idea**
you should introduce south african tornado / hurricane proof houses to the region - ie built of brick & concrete - you could make a fortune

Been here in 2009 and left at the start of hurricane season so only had one alarm go off at our complex where we were staying.

I got the same sms. A friend says it's a hoax. I think so too since there's lots of fog today and the skies are usually clear when there is fog.

Yip, foggy at the moment. Rain is expected from tomorrow, but no other weather warnings that I can see.

in my many years of living near the sea I have learnt early morning fog usually means you are going to crap yourself in the heat later !

Haven't seen it so dark this early in the afternoon near summer in a long time. Heavy rain, lightning and thunder already.
But probably nothing for you northern peeps.

**** I know the feeling....was quite a while back but was stupid and took the dogs for a walk in between rain showers and a lightning bolt hit the build about 30m away...the amount of heat I felt when it struck the building was scary enough but that almost instant thunder sound straight afterwards made the dogs almost *** themselves.

Saying that I won't go out when there's lightning around again...
