Wow the hail a few minutes ago was intense, never seen that much hail in my life.

Same here an hour or two ago. Cloud burst & hail. Wembley sq area (top of Roeland st)

It's freezing cold. Can't wait to get home and turn on the heater.

It's not that bad.
I grew up where it was 40 degrees most days and winter never needed more than a light jersey.
A lot further south, the winters in Salisbury and Bulawayo were much more extreme.

Yeah, most Capetonians are pansies when it comes to winter. Go to the highveld and feel how cold it gets at night!

It's a different type of cold though. Give me a cold winter Free State day anyday. Cape Town is just a miserable cold.

a 5degree drop in temperature, and life comes to a standstill

I'm sure there are many colder places but us sissies over here don't like the cold :)
